In my quest to build a sex toy or piece of BDSM equipment using every workshop at Artisan’s Asylum, a while back I took a screenprinting class. My t-shirt isn’t exactly a toy, but…whatever. ;)

I designed and printed this shirt at Artisan’s Asylum in Somerville. It reads, “Some women have penises. Some men have vaginas. Get over it.”
I had never screen printed anything before, and the process was really interesting! Here are a few snapshots of my design from start to finished shirt.
- After coating my screen with emulsion, I put my design on top and expose the screen to UV light.
- After rinsing away the emulsion that didn’t harden — the areas that I want the ink to go through — the screen dries.
- My screen is mounted in the press, ready for printing.
- Here’s the shirt that I printed, hot off the press (but before it was cured in the dryer).

Want to buy one? I’ve set up a shop on Spreadshirt. I make $5 from each item purchased, and I’ll be putting that money towards my nonprofit, the Effing Foundation for Sex-Positivity. You can take my design and put it on whatever product you like, or you can start with a product I’ve made. Sadly, despite my naming my shirts as “boxy” and “curvy”, Spreadshirt keeps referring to them as “Men’s” and “Women’s”. ^^;
